2005 Projections are Live!!!!

We released the intial set of 2005 projections and with them introduced many new features.  Responding to popular demand from last year we have added the following:

Expanded Categories Provided

HITTERS: AB, H, 2B, 3B, BB, K, OBP, SLG, OPS

PITCHERS: G, GS, IP, H, BB, HLD, HR

Downloadable Excel File

For the first time, you can now download the projections as an excel file.  This allows you to change individual projections if you like.

Audit Trail

We are now providing an Audit Trail on the forums documenting all the changes we make so you can keep up with the changes.

Of course the projections released on January 15th were only the preliminary forecast, and already several members have caught mistakes on our part which have been corrected.  The projections will continue to be refined and updated as news comes in throughout the spring.  We have enjoyed all the discussion and feedback we have received on the message boards and look forward to more great debates throughout the season.

Articles Page Re-Design

You may have noticed that the Articles page is down for maintenance.  We are overhauling the Articles area to be easier to find what you need, as well as to add new content.  This area should be back up in a week and feature the first new article for the preseason.

Player Spotlight

Aaron Rowand – CHW – OF

Rowand started the season in 2004 in a platoon situation with Timo Perez.  He started out slowly and Perez moved ahead of him on the depth chart.  Once he emerged from his slump pushed Timo aside and posted 15 HR in the second half with a .936 OPS.  He is locked in as the starting CF in Chicago and has a stated goal to post a 30-30 season.  While we see more of a 30-20 season, his projection is still good enough to land him the #13 overall hitter spot.
