yeah, those six are certainly who you want to keep. the only other possibility is russell martin, but i don't think he's better than any of the guys in bold.

I would keep Martin over Bedard. I'm always going for offense first over pitching anyway and you already have Santana which would make my decision a little easier to toss back Bedard. You're tossing back the #1/#2 player at his position in Martin, a player who fills up all 5 cats. Pitching will still be plentiful in the draft with guys keeping only 6 players.

Not that this means anything at all but over at Mock Draft Central-

Russel Martin ADP- 30

Eric Bedard ADP- 40

What are the other 2 cats. anyway?

Thats a tough one, but i think i would lean towards Martin too. Although could you imagine having both Bedard and Santana. That's possibly 500K just from those 2.

I like Bedard better if he goes to the Mariners....would that sway the opinions at all??? The potential of a Santana/Bedard combo appeals to me, but if I do that, what is the net dropoff in stats if I throw Martin back in and take someone like Soto a few rounds later?

I love the advice though, please weigh in on this again....

Also, here are the SP's I assume will be kept.

Carlos Zambrano (ChC - SP)
Josh Beckett (Bos - SP)
Dan Haren (Ari - SP)
Jake Peavy (SD - SP)
Cole Hamels (Phi - SP)
Aaron Harang (Cin - SP) (maybe)
John Smoltz (Atl - SP) (maybe)
John Lackey (LAA - SP) (maybe)
Félix Hernández (Sea - SP)
Phil Hughes (NYY - SP)
C.C. Sabathia (Cle - SP)
Brandon Webb (Ari - SP)
Fausto Carmona (Cle - SP,RP)
Roy Oswalt (Hou - SP)
Jeremy Bonderman (Det - SP) (maybe)
Roy Halladay (Tor - SP) (maybe)

Some who might be tossed back in:

*Aside from those marked maybe*
Kazmir
Dice-K
C Young
Cain
Jered Weaver
Verlander
Liriano

Actually, as I write this I realize that Martin is 99.9% the right choice....

Not sure but I think I can probably re-draft a Bedard-like SP with my 1st pick and not worry about losing Martin the more I look at it.

Man, that is nice having both Santana and Bedard. I'll bet ALL catchers except Victor will be available for the draft, assuming you do toss back Martin. After giving this more thought Confused I'm not so sure I'd keep Martin over Bedard anymore.

I guess I'd rather take my chances drafting Martin or a decent catcher rather than tossing back an ace pitcher. Santana and Bedard is a tough combo. I'm going to do a flip flop on this one and keep Bedard.

Tough decision. Mad

Crap...now I am overanalyzing and making my decision tougher, I see Bedard's trade to the Mariners is pending physicals, any word on the injury that knocked Bedard out last season anyways?

It was nothing serious just a strained oblique.

True but Bedard has had some kind of injury almost every year of his career so far. So he is always an injury risk.
