Longoria called up

Going to start at BAL today
Ive been waiting a long time for this to happen

Just picked him in up in my league for Milledge. What do ya'll expect from Longoria this year?

Braun like numbers probably to much to ask for this year but 20- 25 HR .280 and maybe 80+ rbi doesnt seem like to much to look for.

braun like numbers are apparently even too much to ask for from braun himself, so yeah. i'd keep the enthusiasm reasonable. for every braun there's several gordons, for every tulo several stephen drews - remember, each of those letdowns were considered better prospects than the guys who came up and raked. and tulo started slow last year himself anyway.

longoria's felt like a quick study, raking right away when he hit the pros out of college. he *could* have a seamless braun-style transition. but overall it's more likely he'll be sort of a kouzmanoff this year - solid, but not winning a league for you.

honestly i'd rather have milledge, just for this season, unless you specifically need a 3B.

I just picked him up in my league dropping Lowell. My team is DL ridden so this should help me.

He was hitting .200 avg AND slg in the minors, so I'd expect him to struggle early. Maybe he'll figure things out if he gets enough AB's. But don't expect a lot from him.

Thats true, but he did seem to get back into the swing of things, so to speak, the last few days... 3/4 with a couple of ribbies.
I was wondering if the slump was more a reaction to being sent down at the beginning of the season

yeah, that's what i figure. same thing happened with loney last year, he was sent down to AAA for no good reason and then was terrible down there. finally came up, immediately hit like crazy.

actually overnight i've come around to the idea that longoria is pretty likely to be awesome immediately. so, notwithstanding previous advice in this thread, do what you feel.
