Who would you take for Bedard?

Which SP's (besides Johan, Webb, Sabathia) would you take right now in a 1-1 deals for Bedard?

I am thinking of trying to get Smoltz for him, since I am also a Sabathia owner, I cannot take the chance that Bedard might be out for more than 15 days.

15 days is nothing and Bedard is worth keeping rather than panicking trying to get something for him. Don't you have a DL spot on your roster?

Just a small point but generally the 15 day DL has a habit of lasting a month

I have no DL spots, only 2 res spots and I have read at 2 sites that this thing could be very bad. Deginirate hip or something. 2+ months.

I would probably take Smoltz or Verlander right now for him.

My other starters in my 5x5 10 man ROTO are..

Sabathia
Bedard
Harang
D Lowe
Snell
Arroyo

Only problem is that if you read that the owners of Smoltz and Verlander read it too.

I strongly doubt that you will be able to make that kind of trade....

Keep an eye on the situation and if he is going to be out that long then it would probably be best to just cut bait and find a replacement on the WW.

If Bannister or Olson or Floyd are there.... maybe even Gallardo, who should be coming off the DL this Sunday. Just something to think about

Not sure if he is better but he is coming off a whacked year... looks to be getting back to his 2006 form though. He was pretty impressive against the Braves last night

This was posted on rotoworld today "Apr 16 The Associated Press reports Seattle Mariners SP Erik Bedard (hip) will only miss his next start Friday, April 18, before returning April 24." Don't go trying to get rid of him right now. Yeah if he is still struggling or hurt the end of May then start looking for a replacement, but comon man we are 2 and half weeks into the season....I mean he just sucked the first month last year and I jumped all over him. Guy traded me him for willingham and look what happened there. And to compare this to someone last year...look at Ryan Howard, had an injury bothering him the begining of the season, went on the dl and came back 100% and did great. I guess my main point is dont panic in April its way to early.

Thx Huskies, I think I will wait it out. I mean I am always telling my buddies not to worry about anything until mid May at the earliest and look at me.

I mean I got Bedard in round 5, it was not like I got him in 3 or earlier.

Bedard has never pitched a full season. The Mariners shouldve avoided him, but Bavasi as everyone knows is an idiot.
