Kershaw or Bailey, who do you think gets the first call?

I only have 1 bench sot but would like to stash one of the guys for a few weeks becasue I feel one of them will be up sooner rather than later.

bailey will certainly be up first. the reds 5th spot in the rotation has been awful (their 2nd spot too), and bailey is pitching too well in triple A to keep him down too much longer. i expect him up in the next 3 weeks. kershaw will be a little longer.

Bailey will be up first, but i'd much rather hold out for Kershaw if I were you. I believe Bailey is the type of pitcher that will take a few years to develop. I think he will eventually be good, but it will take time. I think Kershaw will have a more immediate impact.

One other thing to look at here is that Bailey is in that bandbox of a park. Though Volquez has been dominate playing there (hasnt given up a HR yet this year)

Im a Bailey owner so its a little hard for me to say this but I think Kershaw would be your best bet. But, I am not knocking Bailey, I do think he will be a stud but for right now, again Id go with Kershaw.

I am starting to think the next "big thing" might be Gio Gonzalez of Oakland. I mean this guy is flat out filthy and the A's will have nothing to lose soon enough.

They called up Greg Smith instead this time around but I see Gonzo up shortly. Check out his K rate the last few years in A & AA.

If you have room on your roster i would definitely grab him. He will be up, probaly around all star break. He's projected as a #2-#3, but with Harden always injured, and Blanton definitely not being a top of staff guy, there's a possible path for him to becoming the ace in Oak sooner than later.
