Well I recently added two SP through trade....without losing any SP. So I have a surplus and need to trim the fat.

My SP are:

Brandon Webb
John Maine
A.J. Burnett
Derek Lowe
Greg Maddux
Joe Blanton
Jonathon Sanchez
Chris Young (DL)

I want to go down to 5 SP, but I am ok with leaving Young on the DL.

Webb, Maine are locks. The rest have been inconsistent and not too fantasy-helpful. I'm reluctant to drop any of them, because I know someone will grab them once they pass waivers.

What kind of value can I expect in trades with the underachievers?

Would I be better off just cutting ties and releasing some of them?

What combination of 3, outside Webb/Maine, will help me more the rest of the year?

Burnett and Sanchez for sure but the 3rd one I am not sure of. Blanton doesnt strike out enough hitters and cant rely on run support. Maddux is a good spot starter at home and Lowe is real dominant either but as I think about it Lowe would be the 3rd one I would keep a hold of.
