KingFelix/Kershaw for Morneau/Phillips

In my 12 team 5x5 mixed keeper league in which I am clearly out in first and looking toward next year a bit, I was made the following offer:

I deal Clayton Kershaw $6, King Felix $12, Hunter Pence $5, and Andy LaRoche $4.

I receive Justin Morneau $12, Brandon Phillips $6, Huston Street $10, and Kurt Suzuki $6.

My biggest problem is that I really do not need Street, who is under contract for 2009 as well, but he gives me a nice trade chip for another deal as a couple owners really need RPs.

Phillips might be a cheaper upgrade over Weeks at 2B this year and beyond, and could even start over Young at MI now. Or it might also allow me to deal Weeks or Young.

I was also trying to use King Felix to land me Brian McCann to replace Snyder at C.

Any thoughts?

If its not broken, dont fix it. It's a good offer, but why put a dent in your pitching when you dont need to. I expect Weeks to figure shit out.

I agree......Probably the best move is no move at all. Your team is sitting pretty right now and in 2009. However, if I were you I'd be trying package deals to acquire Russel Martin, Brian McCann Brandon Phillips, BJ Upton, Ian Kinsler, Chase Utley, David Wright, Miguel Cabrera,....upgrades at your weaker positions. Try Ryan Braun + another player for Wright or Cabrera, as you don't really have a stud 3rd baseman for 2009. Ditto for 2nd baseman.

I dont think his 3b or his 2b is all that bad. Beltre isnt as bad as everybody makes him out to be. If he gets traded to a better, which is likely, his numbers could get even better. And although 2b is currently your weakest position, guess what, its most everybody elses weakest position too. Trust Weeks, he'll pull through. And if you dont trust Weeks, draft the guy who could replace him Alicedes Escobar. Not sure whats going to happen there, but if weeks doesnt turn it up, i could see Hardy getting moved to 2b and escobar taking over SS, with Weeks possibly getting traded in the offseason or sometime next season. Escobar's numbers are scarily similar to Hanley Ramirez's numbers coming up through the minors. Keep an eye on him. But for now i wouldnt do much to your team. Almost every team has a weakness or two even the real strong ones, and yours arent as bad as youre making them out to be. Have faith. As a mariner fan i would love to have Weeks in Seattle.
