KingFelix for McCann

In my 12 team 5x5 mixed keeper league, I need catching help:

Should I deal Felix Hernandez $12 for Brian McCann $8?

I tried offering Clayton Kershaw $6 and others but was turned down, but could also turn around and deal Kershaw for Justin Morneau $12 or maybe Brian Roberts $16.

We can keep up to 15 guys at $2 more per season.

Thoughts on the McCann deal and also on dealing Kershaw?

No i would not trade Felix for McCann. Word has it that Torrealba is going to get traded leaving even more ab for Iannetta. Have faith in him, he will pan out. Felix keeps on getting better every year. I would say him and Sabathia are about even as far as talent now, with Felixs upside even greater. Do not trade him for a C. You will regret it for the rest of your fantasy career.

But we start 2 catchers....does that make a difference...that would be McCann and Iannetta....now I am starting Iannetta and Towles while Snyder is on the DL.

Towles will turn it around as well. Have patience. Towles is one of Houstons top 5 prospects. Do not, I repeat do not trade Felix.

How many pitchers do you plan on keeping? If you're set on keeping a few of the starters you currently have, I'd definitely ship the King for McCann.

Catchers who have the ability to hit .300 25-30 90-100 are quite rare. Jump on it.

Right now only Peavy, Hernandez, Lincy, and Zambrano are already under contract for next year. Sabathia would require a $2 bump to $16 for next year.

We start 9 pitchers, so I could conceivably keep them all.

Since you have two young catcher studs, stick with King Felix.

He's also helping the Braves with 27 doubles and 35 walks, and he'd be a legitimate MVP candidate if he wasn't playing in the shadow of Chipper Jones.

Maybe a legit 10th place finisher for MVP. He is good. I'd just rather hold onto Felix who is turning into a top 10 pitcher and have patience with Iannetta and Snyder (who is due back soon), plus Towles regardless of a slow start could eventually put up Martin like numbers. Keep your dominant staff.
