Nomar is being tossed at me once again....I'm in a 5x5 h2h 10 team league. I'm currently 3-1, but need offensive help....I have solid pitching with lots a speed.

OF - Pierre, Crawford, Patterson
MI - Matsui, Tejada
CI - Nevin, Casey
CA - Kendall
DH - Carlos Lee
ben - Hinske

SP - Schil, Pedro, Od Perez, Oswalt
RP - Wagner
ben - Milton

the offer is this...

Pedro/Hinske for Nomar/C. Zambrano

Also....this was suggested to me...

drop Kaz Matsui and Erik Hinske

and sign Brian Roberts and Melvin Mora

That would give me 3 Oriole players, and just how good will Roberts be?? Would you guys consider any of these moves or be patient and see if Kaz and Hinske turns it around. Thanks for any help.

The main problem with the trade offer proposed to you is you play in a H2H league and with Nomar still on the shelf he wont do anything for your team till he returns (which wont be till the end of May as of right now) Even with his return his health is still a concern based on his injury and the postion he plays. Since Hinske is riding your bench you aren't losing anything but you aren't gaining anything either.

So basically you are trading Pedro for Zambrano, so you have to factor in these parameters.

1- Based on their first month Zambrano is doing much better but do you really think Pedro will not be the old Pedro in a week or 2 when the weather warms up?

2- Pedro inevitably ends up on the DL every season at some point...missing 2 or 3 starts isnt a major problem when dealing with straight fantasy/roto perspective...but in a head to head league it can make a big difference.

3- Pedro's ERA has a better chance of going down (4.17) than Zambrano's (2.7Cool. In a head to head eague that equates to more quality starts from this point forward for Pedro than Zambrano.

Ok this probably didnt help you make a decision but it may help you understand what goes into making these types of decisions
