I'm totally lost as to who I should take. I already have Beltran, Chavez, and B. Giles in my 5x5 roto keeper league (5 per team). Who would you go with?

I'm thinking that Garrett Anderson might not be bad. I could take him then grab a pitcher next round. I'm pretty sure one or more of those pitchers will fall. But I'm not sure having 3 of my first 4 picks be OF would be good.

Anderson is very consistent. It depends on how the draft is going ... if Garrett has dropped to the 4th round ... I am very interested to see who has gone already.

Snatch him up to lock up your outfield with great hitters. Now, you really don't have to worry about avg, rbis, runs, or homers. You have four players who tear the cover off the ball.

The draft has been heavy on hitters. That's why I think I could take somebody like Anderson and then grab say Santana when my next pick Rolls around (10 picks later).

I agree, I would take Anderson there

Oswalt was just taken before me. So I should go Anderson and then take Beckett/RJ/Santana/Webb/Zito in 10 picks?

I would pick Randy Johnson. I am assuming this is the 4th round pick you have. If thats the case, there must be something seriously wrong if RJ isnt picked. He is a top pitcher in baseball, and was rated one of the top 5 players (by nearly everyone) before last year began. I would absolutelty take him in the 4th.

I'd have to disagree with the Randy statement, as I would take Johan Santana above him. That said, I'm not a fan of taking pitching early in a draft so I'd have to go hitting.

but just to be clear, who do you have selected as keepers thus far?

If it's a keeper league take Beckett. This kid will be good for years to come.

I ended up taking Beckett. As far as keepers are concerned, I don't really know. I can figure that out at the end of the year.

While he shined in the playoffs, I wouldn't say he shined much during the season. I'm not going to say that I disagree with your pick, but Beckett has yet to put together a complete season. I would of grabbed Garret there to wrap up your OF.

Problem with a lot of people in keeper leagues is they put too much into future consideration. The goal is to win this year, not next year. I agree with what Harmsway said about Beckett not yet putting together a complete season. Sure Beckett might be outstanding in a few years, but he WONT match the production of Randy Johnson this year (providing both dont get injured).

See, I think that Beckett will be as good as anybody else that was avalible. He has all the talent and has showed he knows how to use it. I think this will be his first complete season.

Well as Long as you are happy with your pick, then nothing else matters. Laughing

I would take Beckett.
RJ came back strong after back surgery a few yrs ago.
Now his knees are so bad he has to take shots all the time.
He could come back like before but he faces knee replacement surgery
after every outing.
Zito would be a good pick too.
