I'm in a 10 team 5x5 rot league where we keep 6. I'm having a little bit of trouble trying to figure out who my 6th keeper will be. Currently, my first 5 keepers are:

Oswalt
ARod
Vlad
Teixeira
Crawford

I can choose one of the following for my 6th:

Kerry Wood
Carlos Lee
Paul Konerko
David Wright
Jose Reyes
Mike Piazza

I'm leaning towards Lee, as he should get me close to 30/100/100/15/.300(could be a little less going from AL to NL). That would aloow me to drat a pitcher in the first round such as Clemens, Oliver Perez, Rich Harden, or Kerry Wood, if necessary. Thanks.

I'd probably go with Lee. Among those guys he should have the best stats in '05 a longshot.

But because your league is a keeper, I wouldn't throw out the possibility of Reyes. Here you'd have a potential 40 SB guy at a scarce position (2b) for 2006.

Wright is another future keeper, but you already have terrific corner guys and shouldn't handcuff yourself by filling the CI slot before the draft, if you can help it.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I have a better shot of re-drafting Reyes than I do Carlos Lee(through a trade I made last year, I have the 4th overall pick in the draft, along with the 4th and 7th in the 2nd round). Also, it looks like pitching will be available too, with the likes of Clemens, Oliver Perez, Beckett, Wood, and Clement all being dropped into the draft pool for one reason or another. Reyes is the one guy I'd love to keep, because, if healthy, he's a 40+SB guy, and could reach 90 runs scored with a decent BA. But, like I said, I can probably get him back if I want to.
