Is anyone interested in an online auction draft sometime??

It could be spread over a few days or something like that.

Also, if anyone has any ideas where to do it... maybe MSN or some live chat room.

I'd love to do one, but, we will probably need a forum or a site somewhere with a forum --- and why haven't you signed up for the 14 team auction draft here? Detective

Prior ity --- no, it is not a mock draft...it is for the season...and it is in the classifieds about 4-5 down from this thread now

Gunkdog - you asked me once what I needed and I said I wasn't sure what you meant, and told you I needed owners - please, go ahead and sign up for the snake and/or the auction =

Prior ity - we can also do an auction by email, but, I am not sure how that works, other than you put a few names in an email and the teams bid on each of them they want - until they are bid the highest bid, then put another group up -- just another way to do the draft (mock or real)

I need more teams in the auction especially and those that have played an auction knows there is a big thrill in bidding on players (especially when you get a good player that is undervalued)

We can set you up with a new forum here, similar to the one used with the first Mock Draft. Just PM me if you'd like to set it up.

A true auction may take way tooLong even in a chat room. I was in an online league years ago that used a modified auction that went something like this: owner 1 calls up a player with a starting bid. Owner 2 makes a bid (or passes), owner 3 does the same, etc., until the final owner makes a bid (or passes). Owner 1 then has an opportunity to "top" the highest bid or pass. Owner 2 calls up the next player and the auction continues in the same fashion.

Another way would be to bid in order as in the above, but keep going "around the table" allowing additoinal bids. However, once an owner "passes", he cannot bid again. No topper rights in this method.

Just some suggestions to think about.

In a proper auction league, teams can bid on a player whenever that player is on the board - as many times as they wish and when they wish - if another 3 teams bid on that player between his last bid, it doesn't put him out of the bidding...until the bidding is over. - The auctioneer will throw out the 1st player and then the 1st player in line will throw out the 2nd immediatley after the 1st player is taken...but, I have said in a previous post (under classifieds, auction league) try not to throw out aCarlos Delgado and bid $5 on him - instead, any 1st round player (unless somebody throws in an obvious lower round pick likePaul Wilson The bids should start around $20 at the least...you KNOW that a legitimate 1st round pick will go for more than 20, so, why nickel and dime it and take longer to draft that player - if you feel that player is worth $25 (on the low end) then start it out there --- BTW - the auction league still needs some players and the snake draft needs 1-2 also
