Looking for cheap young talent for Thome.. how about Brad
Wilkerson?
He's $3. We could include some pitching if you don't like that
straight up. Brian Lawrence is only $4. I'd like Wolf back,
but I'd
go for Borowski for save help this year.

Let me know. I'm open to other ideas as well.

Is there anyway I can clean up old topics that have been answered? Or do you want them posted for while so other people can read them.

No there is not anyway to cleanup old topics...They are actually left there so people can search old threads.

As for your trade: The other team has 3 players I like for next year: Rolen.html]Scott Rolen[/url], Brad Wilkerson, and David Roberts.

I would offer him: Thome, Castilla, and Borowski for those three. If he balks, then drop Roberts and take just Rolen and Wilkerson.

Rotochamp1 and I conferred for a while over your trade offers and I full-heartedly agree with the suggestion he posted. Rolen is locked in cheap and so is Wilkerson. Roberts would be a great addition to that trade and if you are allowed a max of seven keepers that leaves you with these seven to start with next year:

OF Wilkerson
OF Patterson
OF Walker
OF Encarnacion
SS Aurilia
3B Rolen
SP Wolf

If he agrees to include David Roberts then you can make a decision on one of your outfielders at year's end. But it gives you options for low cost, high performance players. And with a low base to start off with you'll have an opportunity to bid on some top-tier free agents in the offseason.

Beyond this trade you also have some ammunition to make further trades. As RotoChamp1 has suggested many times, Marcus Giles is a great target, especially with your infield.

Other guys on your team with potential trade value are Javy Lopez, Peavy, Zambrano, Kinney, and maybe even Hollandsworth if your league is thin.

Walker is a B player so this year I have to sign him for two years. Which I think would increase his salary by $3.

Can you explain the different rules regarding keeping palyers in your league?

Also what was the reason you posted Bond's info?

At the point when keepers are due next year (usually mid to late March), at no additional cost you may keep him and he would be an 18c for 2004, at the end of the year he automatically leaves your team and enters the 2005 auction

Or, when keepers are due, for an additional $2, you may extend him for 1 year. This increases his salary by $5 and he would be noted as a 23x5 on the website. Meaning his salary would be 23 for all of 2004 and 23 for all of 2005. At the end of that he leaves your team and enters the 2006 auction.

Or, when keepers are due, for an additional $4, you may extend for 2 years. His salary increases by $10 and he would be a 28x6 on the website. His salary for 2004, 2005 and 2006 would be 28. He goes into the auction for 2007.

The additional $2 or $4 in Cash gets paid when you sign the contract and is only a one time fee. It goes into the prize fund of the year you sign it.

One other important note. You can never release a contracted player. If he gets hurt you can RSV him and get a replacement but you can never release him unless he retires, dies or gets traded to the AL. He automatically counts as one of your keepers at the beginning of each year as well.
