Roster

i'm in a 20 team,10 player keeper league.i've never made it to the play-offs yet and have been playing scoresheet for about ten years now.i'm looking to end that streak this year some how.here is my roster.i've got about five picks left so what should i do with them?

[size=18]ten years and you've never made the playoffs??? I have NEVER heard of anyone being in that Long and never getting in. Wow. Anyway.

here's what I think:

SP - Zambrano is great and Willis is pretty good when he's on. But the rest of the guys? At best they are #5's on a playoff team, maybe Ponson could be a decent #4 if he gets his head straight. I can only imagine what your keepers were but I find it hard to believe you maxed out here. Overall, a C+ and that's if Zambrano wins the cy Young.

Izzy is fine, but the rest of the guys don't do anything for me. Hopefully you can upgrade in a supplemental draft. Izzy B+/A-, Graves B-, Affeldt C, Randolph D, Takatsu B.

Giambi is a crap shoot but LaRoche could be a good player for you.

2B - Roberts is good, but Womack is a waste. If he weren't in NY, would you want him? Max Roberts ABs

Aramis - no qualms there.

SS - Great defense, but limited offense. If you had better hitters you could be fine there but I don't know. .

LoDuca is okay until July but then he religously sucks in the second half. Miller is strictly a backup so you can't complain.

OF - I love Abreu and Kotsay. Gathright is AAA bound, Endy is strictly defense. Mondesi wasn't a bad late round sleeper. Hopefully you didn't burn a high pick on him. I'm a Braves fan and think he wasn't a bad flyer but for SS I can name 50 OFers I'd rather have.

Overall, I don't see this as a playoff team. You have Zambrano, Aramis and Abreu as your top guys. Kotsay, Izzy and maybe LaRoche if he blows up. You've got work to do big time.[/size]

I think this is a very decent team with a few holes SP,SS and OF.
I realize this is a 20 team league so talent will be thin at shallow positions. Your best bet is trying to go after previously injured players with a good upside: Griffey, Mike Sweeney, Thomas, Guillen, Herandez SP from the Royals. You Need a little more power in your lineup. Good Luck

Get rid of Contreras he is junk, hes got some good stuff, but just cant seem to put it all together.

Gathright is a great selection in the OF, IMO he is one of the fastest guys in the league. In his minor league career he swiped 134 bases in 3 years with a .391 OBP.

Overall looks like a solid team, im sure you will make the playoffs this year Thumbs Up
