i would stick with webb and rollins to be honest... rollins wont get you 70+ steals like podsednik can, but he can sure give you more than enough, and im always worried about podsednik's average, and personally in my other leagues i actually keep him on the bench cuz all he does is give me steals... and one subpar start from webb doesnt mean that hes not worth keeping, i mean, any starter in the majors has potential to give up a bad game or two, that doesnt mean that he should be dropped or traded, espeically for a guy that hasnt even proved himself yet

Sorry MVP but Zach Duke has pitched TWO very good games. the one his offense wasn't very good. He is the future of the pirates.

Two games do not make up a pitcher, while i agree Duke probably will turn out to be a good pitcher, evaluating him after two starts and then comparing him to someone who is in their 3rd year is absurd. Let him get a half year under his belt, hitters will learn more about him and the horrible Pitt offense will not allow him to make mistakes, he will have to pitch perfect every start...and that wont happen.

How deep is the league you're in. If you have Carpenter, Willis and Buehrle that means you drafted Webb to be your 4th starter. I don't know many fantasy teams that have a 4th starter that is having the type of season that Webb is. Your pitching is fine the way it is, don't over react on one bad start from Webb and a good start from a rookie. Wait until he pitches a couple of games and see if teams figure him out before you start making him the next Johan Santana.

Edit: And by the way, his starts hve been against the Brewers and Phillies, not two extraordinary teams. Wait until he has to face the Cardinal lineup, and the Astros and Cubs in the division.

1st win 2nd win doesnt matter much....Hitters study, hitters adapt, he will get figured out just like every other pitcher has in their career and then we will see if he can become a great pitcher by overcoming adversity or if he will fall down to mediocrity.

If you have been paying attention to the pirates this season at all you would take zach duke for the future instead of oliver perez. take a look at perez's stats. then take a look at duke's stats in AAA.

How does Duke's AAA stats make him a stud with the big team? Look at Ben Hendricksons AAA stats in 04, then look at his MLB stats. You cant count on those stats to carry over.

nowhere did i say they were going to carry over i'm just saying that duke has a brighter future and that perez is showing that he is not very consistent.

ummm its only Oliver Perez's 2nd season, and hes been struggling with injuries... a little bit of one season versus TWO starts isnt a very good comparison and doesnt show me much... and you talk about AAA stats, rarely do people come up to the big leagues and continue their AAA stats, i mean, this is the reason why they are the BIG leagues, and the others as MINOR leagues

perez is only 23 years old going 24 next month, you cant expect such a young pitcher to dominate right at the start of their career, and speaking of which the last time i remember Oliver Perez already had a very solid rookie season... young pitchers tend to struggle at times with consistency, and if they struggle for a period of time, that doesnt mean a pitcher with 2 career quality MLB starts will be better

since the time i traded Brett Myers for Brandon Webb ..

webb .. lost 3 straight in a row against SF, CARDS, and CIN

in those 3 games webb earned 13 runs walk 7 hitters and just SO 14 ..

thats y i already doubting this guy .. he lost to 2 teams below .500? wow

he actually lost 4 games in hist last 5 start
