This thread is going to be dedicated solely to players who I plan to stay away from come draft day. I will edit this list by adding players whenever needed.

1. Luis Gonzalez - Playing with a torn ligament doesn't sound good. Let another guy take a chance with him.

2. Ken Griffey Jr. - One word GIMP.

3. Esteban Loaiza - He may put up 10-15 Wins, but it seems unlikely he will put up numbers close to '03.

4. Paul Konerko - Maybe in the late rounds, but I am not going to try and depend on him to be my starting 1B

This is a good idea, and a nice start with Gonzalez. That ligament could go at any time.

Good Call.

Here's my big time "do not draft" player: Tom Glavine. I don't think he's got the juice in him anymore. Sorry, Tommy, but you're riding high on my pass list.

Tom is going to have problems as Long as they have Questec in NY. He has made a career of expanding the strike zone and the umpires will not give him those calls with the machine evaluating them.

*Update*

rotochamp1 - Could you please move this to the "Cheap Seats" forum, because this isn't a rumor.

Ken Griffey Jr...I dont agree. If you can get him with your last draft pick I think hes worth a pick. Before he retires he will have atleast 1 more great season.

I know I'll take some criticism for this but what the hell...

Estaban Loazia - He has been around for a while and before the last season he has never won more than 13 games and hes never had a good era. He would be a very risky pick in my opinion.

Even look at his stats since 2000. Best ERA, 4.56...best WHIP, 1.43

I won't be taking him myself. I'm not completely sold on him yet. While I took the season off last year I am sure he helped with teams, but I'm not sure he can put up these numbers agaian. Not bad pick though if you can get him beyond the 10th round, but I'm sure he won't be available by then.

My Player:

Paul Konerko

I'm not sold that he'll return to previous form after last season.

Funny, I was going to add him to my list, but figured I would hear about it. While I don't think he will reproduce what he did last season, he should be good for about 10-15 Wins.

I also agree about Paul Konerko.

One thing to note about Loaiza: The common belief about his success last year was the development of a cut fastball, which tends to ride in on the hands, break bats, and generally create a lot of groundballs. His success is a great indicator of just how difficult it can be to predict pitching performances from year to year. A guy learns a new out pitch and it can get him an All Star year. You never know. That said, once we've done his projections, I'm sure that'll be one of those good conversation topics.

While maybe not as much as an obvious Choice, a guy definitely not worth drafting is Rheal Cormier. Last year, Cormier looked simply out of this world with the Phillies, but I think that's simply his career year and nothing more. Also, he shouldn't be getting too many holds ops with Tim Worrell in town.

I agree with all your Draft Day Dodgers but I would like to add Bernie Williams. I know he was hurt a good portion of the year last season, but he doesn't run anymore like he use to. This guy use to be a 5 category guy. I think you would be lucky if you get good numbers in 1 category. This is just my thought. There is a lot of young talent out there who will give better numbers overall.

Bernie might be a decent .300 30-90 guy now since hes going to be moving to DH.

I agree that Bernie could rebound to a .300+ AVG but I doubt he will see 30 HR. He has only reached that once in his career, in 2000. Even with the rest at DH his G/F ratio of 1.65 is not indicative of a 30 HR hitter.

Well I'm hearing he is bulking up (Im from NY) and he is supposedly going to be a 'power hitter' this season. And he does play with the short porches in both left and right in NY. Your probably right though, 25 seems more realistic.
