Value-wise you win, but it hurts your team in the SS area. There's a chance he's more worried about Beckett than he nees to be, so see if you can get him without dealing your ss.

I get Brandon Webb and Jason Bay

He gets Vlad.

This is pretty good. I have Webb as a top 10 starter, more valuable than Vlad. What he will give your staff more than makes up for what you'd lose in BA.

Also, there's a decent chance Vlad slips. He's 32, but he hobbles around like a guy who's 38, and his elbow is still bothering him. Bay had a knee problem that should be behind him.

I'd snap up that trade and still inquire about Beckett.

I would say Jones, but i'd still rather have Zimmerman. He's going to be a monster very soon, especially in that new park.

Along with the loss of 30 or more rbi's, your team batt. avg. takes a nose dive by dealing a lock for .320-.330 in Vlad. Hard to pass up the trade but I personally wouldn't do it. I find it much easier to fill in pitching gaps off the wire in addition to making trades. I honestly don't think your staff is THAT bad where you need to deal Vladdy.

How many teams are there? Is this a deep league? I will assume it is a deep league with some of those players you have rostered. If it's a 12 team league or lesss, I'd be willing to bet I'd find much more useful players, particularly pitchers, on the wire over those bums on your bench who will never see the light of day in your active lineup. Counting on a rebound from Bay is risky. Don't be in such a rush to deal a .325 25-30 125 90 player so quickly.

From RotoWorld:

Dontrelle Willis followed up three scoreless innings by giving up five runs while recording just one out in the fourth Friday against the Jays.

All of the runs came in one inning, but Willis was in trouble all day. He allowed seven hits, walked four and hit a batter while facing a lineup that included 1 1/2 regulars. Just stay away.

There's no question Willis best days are well behind him. Good luck to those who are hoping for a rebound pitching in the American League. He will likely do your team more harm than good.

I'd rather send out Nate Robertson or Kuroda than Willis.

Thumbs Down

From Roto Times:/23: Dontrelle Willis could be secretly hurt, according to blessyouboys.com. Two scouts who watched Willis' last outing believed he might have been battling some discomfort, as he was shaking his arm and turning his shoulder as if he were having some trouble getting loose. This is speculation but could be true as Willis is suffering through a tough spring with a 6.59 ERA over 13.2 innings of work, with 11 walks.

Thumbs Down More D-Train news....

From Rotoworld:
Dontrelle Willis was lit up by the Pirates on Wednesday, allowing seven runs -- six earned -- in three innings.

He gave up eight hits, walked four and hit a batter. The speculation that he has a sore arm is only going to increase after this one. He has an 8.64 ERA and a 12/15 K/BB ratio in 16 2/3 innings. Even AL-only leaguers will probably want him benched at the start of the year.
So Tired
