I need to drop an outfielder to make room for Bedard when he comes back. I will list the Of please recommend who you would drop.

Matt Holliday
Jermaine Dye
Grady Sizemore
Lastings Milledge

Andruw Jones
Josh Fields
Carlos Quentin
Corey Patterson

Obviously I wont be dropping the 1st four but I am torn on Andruw, Patterson, Quentin, and Fields. I am leaning towards Andruw or Patterson knowing that Fields would outproduce either one when he gets called up Quentin looks to be pretty solid, but I dont know who has more upside (or downside) this year between Jones/Patterson. Your opinion is appreciated

jeez i dont know...it would definetly be between jones ans patterson though. I would say, depending on your team if you need steals or not and the categories, jones would be the one to drop

both are category killers, but atleast patterson has some good streaks every once in a while

to me it's clearly jones or fields. jones has been making a spectacle of himself for some time now, but i think i still gotta say fields. there's really no knowing when or if he's going to get called up, with crede ahead of him at 3B and swisher, dye, now quentin, and then owens in the OF. i know supposedly they'll trade crede, but when? assuming this isn't keeper, i don't really see the point of carrying him. he could be good when he plays, i'm not saying he won't... but he's not THAT amazing. (he's slugging .350 in AAA right now, for what it's worth.) he's more of a mark-reynolds style pure-power hacker than a longoria type total hitter; there's still some skepticism about him. i know what he did last year, but i wouldn't necessarily count on him doing it again.

Just to make sure I give all the information, it is a keeper where I can keep 6 players, Fields would be the 6th or 7th pick to keep as there are definetely other options before him.

It is H2H so even if Fields gets called up at the break he will still have value to me.

I think Patterson gives me a better balance on all categories but then there is the danger of other players taking his starts. With Jones, if he isnt hitting HR's he has little value but I know he will always play.

I'd drop Fields. Jones will get hot at some point and at least he's an active Major Leaguer. Even if Fields does come up, how much will he actually play anyway?

is this the team in your sig? if there is, and you keep six, you're not keeping fields. holliday, reyes, sizemore, gordon, santana, bedard... that's six. teixeira, Derrek Lee, drew, milledge... i could go on.

maybe i'm totally out to lunch but i have a hard time believing fields will even get picked up if you drop him. i haven't even thought about him in weeks. mmm.... weeks.

i mean i don't want to be the guy who told you to drop fields and then he comes up on june 1st and hits 40 homers over the rest of the season. that's happened before. i told some poor guy to drop mussina for Ryan Madson right before mussina actually had that last good season. (but who saw that coming? and in my defense i also told him to get liriano. hope he did that instead.) if you want to keep fields, keep fields. but i really don't see the point of carrying him.

i'm not really defending jones from the axe though. before the season i thought of him as a bounce-back candidate on the grounds that supposedly he was playing through an injury last year, but it's looking less and less likely that that was the real explanation. the thing about andruw is, as good as he's been, he was supposed to be better than this. his minor league stats were insane, and he was in the majors at like 19 or 20. just based on his track record and scouting pedigree, he should have been an A-Rod type player. but he was never quite that. i feel like he just coasted on talent his entire career. and now the talent's starting to expire, and he doesn't have the skill base to sustain the performance into his 30s. ergo, he might be done. so if you want to drop him because he's bumming out your team, don't let me stop you.

my typing that paragraph will cause him to hit 38 homers next week. but that's fine because supposedly i'm a dodger fan.
