It appears that in its 3rd year my 15 team roto league has become very competitive. THis is our first year as a keeper league (we will be keeping 3 players for next season, with a one-player increase each year). AS for positions they are C, 1B, 2B, 3B,SS,IF,LF,CF,RF,U with 7 pitchers 4 bench spots, with a DL spot and minors spot.
My initial line-up is as follows.
C-LoDuca
1B-Overbay
2B-Kinsler
SS-Michael Young
3B-Encarnacion
IF-Adam LaRoche
LF-Holliday
CF-Cameron
RF-Rios
U-Frank Thomas

Ps-Webb,Harang,Westbrook, Snell, Putz,Gagne, Todd Jones
Bench- Kendall, Mora, Jamies SHields and Broxton.

As I said above the league is pretty savvy so Otsuka and Zumaya are long gone. My main question is should I keep Overbay, LaRoche and Thomas or move them for a lower value player who will give me more steals?

Sometimes I wonder why we enter these pools anyway. We get all stressed out over who to keep etc. Tell a non-baseball fan about our dilemma and they'd put us away.

Your choices are tough as always.....my thinking upon review of your lineup if it helps is.....

Keep Matt Holliday, only 27 and his star is rising, plus he gets points in every category!

Keep Micheal Young, only 30, in a hitters park, he's a shortstop and and with 14 other teams out there, your SS list will thin out pretty fast. He also steals a few bases which adds to his scoring spread.

The tough one is between LaRoche and Rios. Again looking at the size of your league I bet 1B get thinned out rather quickly too. I think LaRoche and Bay are going to give the Pirates a pretty hot 3 - 4 batting combo. You may not get steals but HR, RBI and he'll play almost every game.
As for Rios, last year he was hurt, he hit well at the beginning of the year but if he had been around all season I wonder if he would have held up. hey I'm a Jays fan, but I think he needs to prove himself.

Now your really confused eh!

Good Luck!

Wallyworld, thanks for taking the time to look my team over.
I think I wrote unclearly, this is my line-up for this season (we will choose keepers for the first time after this coming season). My question was really whether it is worth it to drop Thomas for some lower ranked player who will help me make up some ground in steals or whether I should just play the hand I have been dealt.
