Aight here's the deal. This guy in my league has Scott Rolen. He is willing to give them up, but of course for a price. The thing I need to know is, what should i offer him? The league is a basic yahoo, head to head, league. The stat categories are:

He really likes Willis, Griffey, Burrell, Shefield and Mussina.

The thing i need help with is coming up with a trade that satisfyes both of us (but me a little more lol). Also, the trade needs to have an even number of players.

Thanks you SOOOOO much!!

how bout Mussina and preston for Rolen and Beckett. Mussina is horrible, and preston will soon be injured for the year... just wait.

Mussina is horrible? Are you basing this off his first two starts? If you are then theres no hope for you. Mussina is one of the better pitchers in the game, and a lot better than Beckett (who hasnt pitched 150+ innings yet, durable lol). And how do you know Wilson will be out for the year? Is there some sort of article about this? I wasnt aware of anything like that.

im basing the fact / my opinion that Mussina is bad on the fact that that i am a mets fan. i dont draft or have yankees on my team. as for preston, his knee troubles are still acting up, and it seems that while he may play out the season,he won't be at 100%.

Mussina was pretty mediocre for the Yanks last year. I don't like him either.

umm..... how is 17 Wins 195 strikeouts 3.40 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP MEDIOCRE?

I am a Yankee hater but you can't let that blind you in roto.

I would "very reluctantly" give him Griffey, and see if he would bite on Estes, given his hot start.

I would keep Mussina, and if he doesn't like Estes, give him Willis, who may have a sophomore slump.

You guys are crazy!!!
First of all, Leftcoastlawyer, If you offered me Ken Griffey jr and Shawn Estes for Josh Becket and Scott Rolen, after i finished laughing at you, i'd tell you to get out of my face with your rediculousness. I know you want to offer less than you are willing to give up but please.

Second, Metboy, If Mussina sucks i'd like you to tell me a pitcher that's good. Mussina is a horse that gets k's and pitches for an offense that scores a ton of runs.

Finally, aquaholic, What do you mean he desperately needs a stud outfielder? He can put Texeira at first and move Pujols to the outfield in place of Matsui or Guillen who aren't bad players themselves. If your opponent had half a brain you would have no bargaining power.

Sorry, i guess i'm just ranting. I'll shut up now.

Easy cowboy, he is asking what to offer, not what the best deal is. In that context, it is not "rediculous" but merely a starting point. Besides, Estes has been hot, this is a Yahoo league, and the other guy may bite.

As I have learned time and again in my business:
1) if you don't ask, you don't get
2) never underestimate the power of human stupidity.

If the other guy reacts as you did, then you ask for a counter, it is as simple as that.

How does Scott Rolen and Josh Beckett for Gary Sheffield and Mike Mussina sound?

I agree that you should start low.
But I also think your starting point should be within the scope of human understanding.
And he did ask for a trade that would satisfy both teams, he didn't ask for the most lopsided scenario possible.

That last post was meant for Leftcoastlawyer.
Sheffield and Mussina for Becket and Rolen is more than fair. I'm really big on Becket this year. Maybe offer him Mussina and his choice of Burrell, Griffey, or Wilson. If he won't accept that then give him Sheffield and Mussina.

LOL-but he did ask for a trade that helped him a little more.

Besides, I am by nature not fair, that's what they pay me for.

Frankly, your not smart if you think Woody Williams is better than Mike Mussina. Look at each of their careers, there is no comparison.
