Bourn

I got offered Michael Bourn and a #10 waiver (move up ten spots) for Corpas. I'm rebuilding my team and already have Carlos Gomez. I generally dont like carrying two players who are virtually the same, but i think Gomez could develop into a Crawford type player.
I'm sitting on a bunch of OF to see how they develop
Ryan Sweeney
Franklin Gutierrez
Steve Pearce
John Bowker
Brandon Jones
Elijah Dukes

i also have Jay Bruce

So realistically my future OF looks like Bruce/Gomez/Gutierrez or Pearce with Bourn in at Util or off the bench for SB help.
I also think i can pick up something else later, by trading Bourn to a team that needs SB.
What do you think, is Bourn/#10waiver worthy of trading Corpas for?

umm definetly

corpas may regain the closer's spot, but thats a definite maybe

you have a great bargaining chip in bourne, and +10 spots on the wire

In case your outfield doesnt develop the way you want, you also have great options

and btw, gomez probably has better power potential than crawford

I should mention its an OPS league. Bourn is rather weak in OPS. Does his SB make up for that?

The waiver wire move makes up for it IMO

He's got Nick Johnson too. So i'm going to see if i can package something to get him too. That will make up for the OPS issue.

still, unless theres holds in your league, corpas is relatively worthless. youre getting a solid bench player for essentially nothing

I made the deal, mostly on the fact that i essentially have two top ten waiver picks now. I currently have #1 and will immediately get the other top 10 once i use the #1.

Not sure. I usually like to wait till later in the season to use my waivers. I already passed on Lowrie cause i think he's overated. Somebody already owns Scherzer in their minors. Masterson looks interesting, but i'l leaning against him. Holding out on the hope that Thomas Hanson gets a shot later on.

With Owings possibly headed to the DL its a shame someone in your league already has Sherzer, I have the #1 spot too and thats who I am waiting for.

Scherzer is going to stick even when Owings comes back, because Edgar Gonzalez sucks.
