I need to replace Nevin now that he has gone on the DL. I play in a 16 team MLB league. There is not much left on waivers. I am considering picking up Nady, Ruben Mateo, Nick Green, Ginter, Tony Alvarez, Munson, Jolbert Cabrera and Eli Marrero/Charles Thomas. I know those are not superstars but like I said the league is very very deep and active. Any suggestions from the list that I posted?

Of that list I would go with Eli Marrero. He will be in the lineup everyday and is capable of a good average and decent pop.

I agree, Marrero will get plenty of AB's this season and since his return from the DL, has been a madman.

I like Marrero and I am a braves fan but I see this kid Thomas getting all the playing time vs right handers. What makes you think that will change anytime soon?

IT may not change as the platoon is working out very well so far. Marrero does have the ability to get more at-bats due to his versatility.

Here are the numbers since Thomas joined the team:

Marrero : 22 AB .454 AVG 1.363 OPS 2HR 5R 8RBI

Thomas : 31 AB .368 AVG 1.069 OPS 0HR 4R 4RBI

Those are the types of numbers any manager dreams about when platooning two guys.
