Randy Johnson for Mark Prior, and Victor Zambrano

I am currently the owner of the second best team in my dynasty baseball league. The league is all year round, and is very competitive. The scoring is based on actual statistics and daily attributes. I have an average rotation consisting of: Randy Johnson, Osuna.html]Antonio Osuna[/url], Nomo.html]Hideo Nomo[/url] and John Lieber. I have a temporary #5 starter.

Anyway, I have been offered a trade by the worst team in the League. The manager decided to propose a deal with Randy Johnson for Prior.html]Mark Prior[/url] and Victor Zambrano. I know this May sound a Little Strange--but I think I am going to accept it. As you know, this is a dynasty League--so I need a Young pitching staff. Randy Johnson is a very Good pitcher, but is 41 years old. On the other hand, I believe that Prior.html]Mark Prior[/url] is 25 years old. Victor Zambrano has many years ahead of him. Johnson May have 5 years a best. I can't afford to lose my finest star to retirement.

I need to accept or decline this trade by Tuesday. I would appreciate a quick response. Thank you!

If you think you can still be competitive this year with Prior.html]Mark Prior[/url] and Victor Zambrano instead of Johnson, I would accept the trade.

Johnson is a Good SP, but you could probobly get more value from a healthy Prior and Zambrano. Plus, the last place team getting Johnson wont hurt you that much. Its a lot better than trading him to a top team.

How does the Dynasty league work? Same players come out next year etc. etc..?

I would agree that in the long run the trade looks like a winner but I think in the short run you are taking alot of risks. Prior has looked awesome in the past but also gets injured frequently. Johnson will have the K's working even if he doesnt have a high Win total. If your going for young pitching I would much rather have Beckett or maybe even Danny Haren in Oakland. If Prior stays healthy it's a good deal, but......

When Prior's healthy, I would say he's a top 5 SP.

I decided to make a counter-offer. I wanted Mark Prior, Victor Zambrano, and Shawn Green, for Randy Johnson, and Ramon Martinez. I felt that this trade would also enhance my line-up. Shawn Green did not do terribly. He should do very well with the Diamondbacks, this year.

Anyway, the offer was accepted immediatly. I actually don't understand why he was so fast to accept. Ramon Martinez has a total of 21 homeruns in his whole career. On the other hand, Shawn Green is projected to hit 33 homeruns this year.
