Just wanted some opinions on 3 risky ass picks i made recently in a keeper league

i believe personally at least one of these 3 will be a 3 year keeper

opinions??

they were all draftd after the 6th round in a 12 man league and as for Gagne tthere was a huge closer run in the draft so i felt obliged as he was the only quality guy left

Eric Gagne-RP
Barry Steroid in the ass Bonds -of

scott rolin on a river rolen 3B

anyone have any projections on those 3 guys??

let me know thnx

all are a huge risk

gagne may not be the same after all his arm issues, maybe thats why howry is in town

bonds is out of needles and i dont see much after this year in his drug induced tank

rolen played 46 games last year and he too is a huge huge risk

was there noone available who had total reconstructive surgery?

I think all of these picks ruined your entire draft, nothing you do now will prevent you from finishing last in your league.

a bit harsh to say he will finish last, its 3 players of a entire roster,no doubt 3 very risky picks but not close to saying a team will finish last over 3 picks unless its a 3 man roster

what is your roster?

Trust me, I know this for a fact, he will be last place.

I dont see a solid three year keeper in that list. Bonds will probably be done after this year if hes not done before then. Gagne, well....who knows? But I think 3 productive years has the same chance of happening as Bonds coming back for the 2007 season. Lastly, Rolen...I think he'll be decent this season...but for three years? I'd say your best bet is with Rolen being productive for three years....The other two really aren't close.

p.s. -- asking for advice on the site where 8 or 9 guys in your league call home -- probably not the best plan Laughing

What they said. Razz

Honestly they are what they are , high risk high reward. All could have great seasons even Bonds although I think 120 to 130 games played is all we will get this year. I mean even if he is somewhat healthy he won't be playing in day games after night games and most likely won't play 3 games in a row. He doesn't need many at bats though to make a fantasy impact. Gagne didn't need Tommy John surgery so that is a plus for you. Scott Rolen is a toss up also. Risky picks but could pay off huge for you in the end.

Sucker 'em in and make 'em talk smack to you - that's the ticket! Cheers!

The more you get them to talk the better off you could be... you can always use this to your advantage if you're savvy enough. As for me, I can't keep my lips shut long enough to sport a "Mr. Cool" manager profile for more than a six-pack swallowing or a good day at the ballpark, instead I like to try and throw as many gyroballs to my league as possible keeping them guessing in information overload land. I still strive to keep balance and performance at the same time, I just try hard not to be predictable.

Sounds like you got good draft value out Gagne, Rolen and Bonds getting them all after the sixth round. Could be you even get excellent value out of that group and, depending on the supporting cast, maybe you walk away very pleased. Very bold taking on all three of them definitely a classic high risk vs. high reward philosphy you're playing this year, but it's a good year for it with names like those in the come-back category.

I've got Gagne and feel good about him so far. I might even take a flier on Bonds if he falls far enough in a draft or two and probably Schmidt as well. I like the value picks you made. The downside is if they're injured they might not be worth a bag of balls.
